Hi,

I'm working on my first ebike build (converting a Specialized BigHit with a Hyena kit) with a 20" rear wheel. The 20" rim is 32mm wide - looking for suggestions please for a good dirt trails tyre?

I use Maxxis Hookworm for 20" tire

Hookworms are lethal in the soft dirt.

Mark, you want something fairly knobby. Check out unicycle suppliers, I came across a few riders in the national park not long ago (you may have seent he youtube vid) and a few of them had quite chunky, knobby tyres.

As I also mentioned previously, you should be able to get a 16" motorcycle tyre onto the 20" rim with a bit of elbow grease
Check out pit bike suppliers for a 16" front dirt tyre, they'd probably be ideal. Or a dual sport style front tyre if you can get one would be even better. I know you'd get a fat rear one but they'd be too wide to fit the rim and I'm not sure how common 16" is for front wheels...
