Hey guys,
can someone please explain to me why most of e-skateboard manufacturers use 36v systems instead of 12v? Is it to do with KV and torque? As far as i can see, one can use a 12v motor which is lighter and has the same wattage as the 36v one. What are the benefits of 36v over 12v or 24v? Thank you

they can , but for the same power they have to make it work with more current P=IV

more current means more heat(low efficiency) , and need stronger electric componnents(batteries, wires, BMS, controller) ..

As said up, more voltage will reduce the current and so will reduce heat .
Manufacturers choose 36v because over about 40 volt electricity is very dangerous .
