Hi all,

I thought it would be unfair to my buddy to not mention that he's created a website for my kart conversion. I'm not much for talking, but all of you have been a great help, so I'm putting that out there while I'm at it.

http://www.zentuckylab.com

If the language on the site sounds elitist or sounds ignorant, our apologies (I didn't write it). It may be true, however. :?

It is not mentioned that I raced for a season many years ago and it is a very expensive sport, but cheap racing. It seems like a large part of the adult population just participates until the expense starts getting to them. I moved on to other stuff but kept the chassis expecting to do something interesting with it. I've noticed a lot of change over the last 18 months and decided that it was something that may be feasible. Cost is still sick.

Video? Talk to Kodak. I've been waiting for my ZI8 for over a month. In the meantime, enjoy the graph from Dynolicious. I didn't get the speed too high since I was bottoming out on my street. It is geared to hit 125kph at 84 volt. This was a 30S2P pack which is now wrecked. I am building a 30S4P pack now.IMG_0022.jpg

Are you saying it burns 186.5 wh per km?? It says you got 4.2 ah out of the battery and went 2.5 km. I am hoping thats a type-o! My other question is how come you don't show where the batteries go on the kart? Or is it becasue you don't have an large enough pack yeat?

I was driving it pretty darn hard in a parking lot, and the power settings were at full. Big power slides, not how it would be driven on the track. Drifting competition maybe. I also didn't have regen on. But it looks like I need 110 wh/km to reach my range goal... so there's some compromises required.

The 60 cell pack fit into the existing gas tank. I cut a hole in the front of the tank and shoved them in. For my 120 cell pack, I've made a new fiberglass enclosure and arranged the cells staggered so they will fit into the same space. The kart has been on scales showing that this location is optimal for weight distribution. The prismatic will sure make life easier.

Sweet I guess those are probably normal numbers considering. I just knoticed you are in Vancouver, Im in Nanimo, maybe oneday I will catch a ferry and check it out. Definatly very very interested in building one of these. I take it you motor is brushed how many watts? I have been looking for large brushless motors for things like this but can't seem to find any.

I was wanting to get some lap times at the Chilliwack track to see where it stands compared to gas. I'll have to make an announcement when that's a go, but will probably be in the spring. As for the motor, it is brushed. I believe the Agni 95 is reported to be able to take 400 amps for a couple minutes and spin to 6000rpm and 84V. For this size, I don't think there's any competitor. Isn't there a brushless Etek style motor?

Im still learning whats available for the motors. Spring would be awesome I am without car right now got parts ordered 2 tims for one of them and the other is a summer only car. I should have the e-bmx working soon but chilliwack may require more AH than I have lol. Very cool project! :p
