Hey, I found out that it might be a month or two before I can get my ebike due to shortage of funds. I want to encourage anyone who does videos on e-bikes to continue to do them because I like watching them in action. Hopefully, that will tide me over until I get mine. I've seen ypedals and a few others. If you are doing videos on yours on youtube, reply below and I'll subscribe to you. I need something to watch while I'm waiting to get my bike..... :(

Hello,

Just go on youtube and type: Crystalyte, doctorbass, Ypedal, A123, X503, Electric bike, Ebike 5302 5303 5304 5305..Acceleration test, etc

You will find what you search for

What, no wind noise ? !

How refreshing, as a brisk ebike ride should be.

I have to vote these videos as one of my faves, complete with

-disco lights
-pipe organ
-plastic Jesus
-chocolate easter bunny
-high speed truck & helicopter chase - again as a brisk ebike ride should be
-and of course that beloved snoopy dog house that leaves unsuspecting, God fearing, hard working, upstanding, spectators in suspension of disbelief

Oh, more cools points for:
-wide seat
-'coon tail
-rat's nest
-tassels
-classic rock
-honest effort keeping the frump down
-over all, kooky but cool

pwbset's gnome would karmically be essential to ward-off evil doers such as cruising teens armed with paintball guns.

"..police helicopter in the sky... let's find out what he's looking at....
... I guess my spokelights caught his attention... "

man I need to get some e biking weather soon....

A few of my old ones.
First one was a lot of fun, the second one got ruined due to extreme heat, camera problems, etc. So I was just silly on special FX in that one.

Nice. Is that with a 4xx motor? what battery are you using?

406, 700C Front Hub Motor, 13AH NiMH battery pack (48 volts).

The camera doesn't show elevation very well, so a lot of areas look flat with myself doing 40+ MPH, really it's down hill. At that voltage on it's own, the e-bike averages more around 30+ MPH on the flats, a lot faster down hills, etc. The gear ratio on my bike max at about 35MPH so after that speed, I can't pedal fast enough to really contribute anything, kind of like riding a motorcycle then.

An old video though, my new setup is the same bike, motor, etc. But now I have some brand new 13AH 25.2V NiMH battery packs (3 of them), so now it's powered at 75.6 volts (88.2 volts when fully charged). The top speed has increased just as proportional as well. Flat level speeds now average around 50 MPH (that evil wind friction barrier, it won't ever get over that without a major power boost), though some areas exist nearby that allow me to reach 70 MPH (downhill of course), which I want to get a video of because no one would believe me otherwise, LOL.

When I get my 70 MPH video up, this will be the first place to see, hehe.

50mph continuous with a 400 serie!.. that's 2900W continuous !!

how hot does it get?

What controller are you using? How many amps do you use at 50mph? What is your range like? I got talked out of getting a 406 700c, because it wouldn't be able to climb at all, I am wishing I had gone for the 406 now...

Just be careful getting the proof

48V at around 2900W is 60A continuous.

At that speed (fully charged packs @ 88 volts) it takes 2,200 watts, plus a tuck, straight open road, no headwind, very ideal conditions for that. So hitting 50 mph is one of those events that take a little while to reach (don't want to full throttle from a dead stop, don't think the front can take it), then after it finally hits that, I usually run out of road. Temperature wise, it's very warm for such a short run (maybe 100 to 105 F), but I haven't done an long "burn" on the motor (can't find a road long enough that won't go through a stoplight) to really push it. The controller usually ends up overheating before I really get a good chance though, power levels are a bit over for what it's rated max is.

I'll do a video for that as well, though the 70MPH run will be more exciting since it will appear that the e-bike has some free energy machine running it. It will be cheating with gravity, but it's still a fun rush, just hope I don't crash.

25 amp burst (it's actually a 20 amp controller, but according to CA, it burst up to 25 amps), @ 88 volts (fully charged), so it *can* hit about 2kW of power, but the power controller won't handle it for long before it hits the overheat protection and shuts off. So doing a 50 mph run is usually fresh off the charger and very ideal conditions, certainly don't maintain 50 mph around I go, but still a fun rush, non the less.

Yeah, luckily it's a big open road. It's terrible how the camera makes everything look "flat" because it's a very steep/long hill (nearly 1000' elevation drop I think from the top) so just coasting you can hit 55+ MPH, with the motor, it has enough power to drag it's way through the air at nearly 70 mph + gravity. Was surprisingly not as scary as I thought it would be, I guess since it's a big open road and little traffic, not worried about going head long into a car, but I guess crashing into the ditch is a scary enough thought.

Cool info. I know a 4011 with a Clyte pedal first controller can handle ~2.2kw sustained for 15 minutes straight 'cause I did it like 50 times last summer climbing a mountain to work. That was ~76v with sag and ~30a sustained. The motor was very hot, controller barely warm... neither suffered too much as I'd put a fan on the bike at the office for immediate cooling, but I wouldn't be surprised to hook up a regular controller to find I didn't have functioning hall sensors.

Bottom line is that 4 series motors rock! 8)

I know my motor gets screaming hot in the summer when I do full bore rides. Basically I ride around my neighborhood as fast as I can, full throttle all the time. It only takes about 20 minutes to kill my batteries and peaks at about 2000 watts. I'm running a 409 motor so I usually peg out around 30 mph and I've always want to drop my 26" to a 20". That 50 mph stuff is a little too fast for me.

Today was first day that looked like spring. 18°C whitout any clouds. I have spent 8 hours on my bikes...just riding and playing with camera. Improvising the camera mount is good thing to lose your camera ...twice in one day... here is some videos...first one is going uphill on the road then down through the forrest untill i found the tree laying on my path. Second one is goind back uphill in woods and down on road...max speed was 61km/h few moments before hard breaking when I was trying not to hit the tree and 71km/h going down the road....

 at 1:02 on the first vid.. I hope you are stilll ok Hall!!!

I had a siomilar experience during the night with no headlight  .. and i 've hit a tree on the ground.. but at like 40km/h.. My front wheel was complitly scraped!! spokes broke.. suspension fork bended.. I jumped avove the bike and hit the ground without any pain.. .but the front of my ebike was destroyed... now it is completly repaired with the new white fork.

Great video anyway you posted!!

Tnx Dr.
I am ok. It was just the camera that fall off on small jump...
