Anyone got any tips for making your own tool battery adapter? Milwaukee, Makita etc.

My particular battery is Ego, there seems to be a couple of options (Minne and Terrafirma) but they are quite expensive (roughly $65 AUD, plus shipping = almost $100 AUD). I can buy a used charger for about $70 AUD….

I was thinking about plugging the holes/lining the edges in the battery and pouring in epoxy or similar into it to create a mould. Then drill/slot out the mould to accomodate connector tabs/wiring as needed.

Any bright ideas? :)

Know anyone with a 3d printer?
I just printed some some for my Milwaukee batteries.
You may find a print file on Thingverse or similar.
I like your epoxy idea, you could pre-insert the wire/spade terminals into the battery and cast them in place.

I literally just got a case for a deWalt battery, comes with all the bits and bobs, paid like 8 bucks for it, gonna hand it off to my buddy the electrician this week let him beat it up some. Total cost for the unit with IIRC 8 18650 will even if I bought over the counter high end cels would be cheap considering that the new LiIon batts they sell at Home Despot are like 120...

I will post what it looks like when I have it built, and how it performs in a couple weeks.

I’ve actually decided to just pull the plastic cover off the battery and solder some good quality wires to the inside connections, and run the wires outside of the pack which will be terminated with a female XT60S or XT90S connector.

This will free up my options for a mount as I no longer need to find a mount that includes an electrical connection.

These look suitable and lock the battery in whereas the Minne and Terrafirma models do not.

They also cost 7-8 times less per unit.
