from ^ there.
and i ordered 2 12v 18 amp batteries( sla) with a charger for $200, my question is, are these batteries ok for this motor setup.
thanks for any help and answers, im pretty sure myself that they will be ok, but i need a second opinion as i cannot afford to stuff any of this up.
beats buying a gopher anyday.
ps, this is going onto a glint trike. pics and my opinions after its working

Should be, if the sla's are a type intended for deep discharges, like a wheelchair, trolling motor, scooter, etc. If intended for starting a lawnmower, they won't last at all. The price alone tells me that they are likely to be the wheelchair use type though, the starter ones have a lot less lead and are much cheaper.

well i brought myself a 24v 30ah ping :) almost $700 delivered but it was an easy purchase to make after a few emails with lee? ping.
the first charge went for 5 hours, charged it a bit more the next day and all 8 lights lit up. no cash on hand so i made up 2 busbar (almost lol ) type connections, mounted them on 2 bits of wood and put them at each end of an old esky i found 8) , its only temporary until my 24v battery switches arrive, as you can see in the bottom pics i have almost lined an a toolbox with rubber mat, the switches will go either end, like the esky, just need more cash in hand to buy kwikgrip to finish the gluing.
also a shot of the motor mount and chain tensioner/guide, i will tidy the angles on the arm a bit more

esky sitting on bike, ocky straps hold it down. toolbox will be bolted or hinged straps, most likely.

the wire is soldered onto a 2cent piece  it was all i could find to use  , i tinned the copper pipe using a gas stove, a small bit of flux solder and solder stick with no flux, so its not real pretty even by my standards.

first charge

used a piece from the mounting kit for the arm, and butchered and old derailleur

yeh it comes inside everyday, might shed it in the warmer weather though, takes up a bit of the walk way

the tool box, while im waiting for glue i have been cutting bits of foam to sit the ping in. later on a pc fan or 2 will be used as well.
the only thing im not sure about is

can or should i remove the bms from where it is and give it a secure mount somewhere inside the lid?

so as for the ping, i am wrapped, the only time i tried to come up the big hill my front freewheel decided it wouldnt let me pedal, so i only made it 3/4's of the way before i decided it was going to strain the battery to push it further so i got of and walked the final 100 meters using the motor to take the bike up. going the long way around is quicker then the boys going the short way  . and yestie i went for 2 rides, first about 8 kays, second about 5. battery took about 45 minutes to charge with the 3 amp charger, voltage was at 26.7, right now sitting fully charged on the charger its at 30.5 v. no idea what it all means exactly, but someone might understand it :), oh both trips where at an average of about 20-25 kays an hour, i need to fix my speedo wire and find a new magnet to know for sure
