Bike shop in Brisbane to build an internal gear hub wheel?

Hi,

Just wondering if any of the Australian forum members happen to know whether there are any bike shops in Brisbane that would build me a wheel with a 5 gear Shimano or Sturmey Archer internal hub?

I’ve rung a few of the mainstream shops but it felt like I was asking them to do something illegal…..

I'm not from Oz so I can't recommend any shops, but I'll say this: don't waste your time with a shop that won't build you a custom wheel.

I wonder if their hesitation was because of some incompatibility between your bike an an internal gear hub. Could that be a factor?

No, I’m already running a Nexus 3 gear hub on this bike so there is no compatibility issue.
I’m also not interesting in installing the wheel or the shifter, I can do that myself, so they haven’t even seen my bike. All I’m asking is for a wheel to be built and trued.
Of course it’s not for one of their bikes and internal gear hubs seem to be hard to come by at the moment, so this might be a factor.
