I bought this power supply:

Tried it for the first time today. Connected it and measured the minimum and maximum voltage. It measured ～32V at minimum, so I figured I would try to charge my 36V battery. Was this a completely stupid idea?
Because when I (slowly) turned the voltage up to 37-38V, the power supply made a really loud bang! My battery pack was at 36,2V before I connected it.
I know it says 48V ±10% output... Just didn't think that much about it. Is this power supply garbage now?
