Hi,

It looks like the BMS in my Blue my sky 09 battery pack has died, it only outputs 5.2v nothing from the USB port and the LED doesn't illuminate on the power switch although all the batteries are charged and balanced.

Has anyone else had this problem?

This is the battery pack https://bmsbattery.com/ebike-battery/684-48v116ah-bottle-09-panasonic-battery-charger-battery.html

And the BMS https://bmsbattery.com/bmspcm/714-10s-13s-20a-lithium-bms-for-bottle-battery-09-bms-pcm.html

Battery pack is 10 months old.

Thanks,
Grant.

Surely, if you know what BMS you have, you must have the battery open. All you need to do is measure the 13 cell voltages on the multipin connector to find out what's wrong.

If all the cell voltages are in the healthy range (measured at the BMS), then it must be a problem with the BMS. A close visual inspection might show something. Look for burned parts or signs of heat.

Thanks for the replies.

Everything measures good and I've put a dummy load on the batteries and no problem there.

I was hoping someone was going to say "those BMS units have a common fault and do this.... to fix it"

I sent an email off to BMS but haven't had a reply and the website shows that they no longer have stock of this BMS.

Green bike kit have it but it's much dearer http://www.greenbikekit.com/48v-13s-li-ion-ebike-bms-for-frame-battery-with-5v-usb-output.html

And I don't want to replace it with another one to have the same thing happen.

So I'm looking for alternatives to this BMS, most seem to have bluetooth option and that adds greatly to the price.
