Hi Guys,

I'm currently buying/sourcing parts for a 18s3p Samsung ICR18650-22P pack build and would like to know what Over charge detection voltage to have set on the BMS for this particular cell?
I have found several chinese suppliers for an 18s BMS and the data sheets have the Over charge detection voltage set for 3v but state that this is adjustable.
I realise that at 3v the battery is going to be well protected but is this going to reduce the useable capacity a lot compared to say a 2.8v setting? I'm unable to find a data sheet on this particular samsung cell.

Cheers

3V seems a little high, especially if your goal is to get as much range out of the pack as possible, which it sounds like is your goal.

Remember though, that this can be a bit counter-intuitive, with a lower LVC, while you'll get more range on each ride, you'll shorten the usable life of the battery with many discharges down to 2.8v per cell, and that means you'll get less total range over the life of the battery pack.
