Also trying to put together an ev-go-kart based on a full size chassis, ex-shifter. Have the ME0909 motor, 48 v controller Sevcon, batteries lead acid 4 X 12v 50ah. The motor sprocket has 16 teeth, I want low end acceleration vs top end speed. Which sprocket size for the shaft? for a 1 to 3 ratio. What are the parts I need to connect the sprocket to the shaft? Thank you, Nick

That would be great and I considered this, issues with the rear wheels, wide, and cost, of double controllers etc.

To the other guy building a kart, make your own thread since what you're doing is totally different from what the chef is doing. And in any case, do not use lead acid since that is always a huge mistake (unless you're building a submarine).

They have hub motors with small diameter, reinforced wheels. Diff not needed with this arrangement.

Sine wave is much quieter, especially with hubs. Also smoother at low speeds. Not much more effective outside of those aspects.
