Car Scrapping Programs

Sucks you can't qualify by buying a big ol pile of "new" lithium batteries for a conversion. Seems to me it ought to be allowed to at least buy a more efficient used car and get half the cash. Obama's got some good ideas, but like old georgie boy, they think in terms of people who make $60,000 a year. I'd love to put all of the senate and congress on the same diet I went through colledge on, for just one month.

A long while back there was a studdy published on Cradle to grave polution of vehicles. That is, the amount of polution they produce from the start of the asembly line all the way to there eventual entrance into a scrapyard and recycled
. that included cas, oil, tires, maintance items, like brakes, fluids, ect.

of the cars for sale in that year (i think 2003) the jeep wrangler 6 cylinder was the most enviromentaly friendly, and the pryus was one of the worst, under some full sized pickups.

It also notes was that replacing a 20 year old car with a modern one wasn't good for the enviroment either. the 20 year old car might polute mote out the tail pipe, but the over all polution of producing a new car to replace an old car was worse than just continuiong to drive the old car.

these car junking programs equate to nothing more than a new car rebate sponsored by your tax dollars.
