Almost a year ago I was hoping for a Chademo charging solution for e-bikes. So far I have not seen any.
What would it take to use standard chademo charger for an e-bike? Those chademo chargers are widely available where I live and it would be awesome to be able to charge using them, for a quick top up.

Anyone done Chademo charger for your ebike?

Edited; J1772 is more suited for e-bikes. Thx kingjamz for enlightening me.

Have you seen the size of a CHAdeMO port? It's freakin huge. It wouldn't reasonably fit on any ebike I'm aware of.

All DC fast chargers aren't made for charging low voltage ebike batteries. CHAdeMO stations are designed for 500V @125 amps or 50+KW of output... far far to high for ebikes. I'd bet good money that CHAdeMO would stop the charge as "full" at less than the absolute maximum charge rate for most ebike packs.

You'd also need a CANBUS interface to convince the charger to start talking.

Zero Motorcycles toyed with using CHAdeMO but gave up because most chargers won't go low enough in voltage to charge the Zero's battery.

J1772 is a far better option. It just puts out 220V or 120V AC and allows you to use an onboard charger to charge your pack. I'm really happy with my J1772 install on my EEB. It works great.

Plus most J1772 is free while all the CHAdeMO's (except at Nissan dealerships) charge a lot of money to use. For me it's $4.95 setup fee plus something like $0.15c/min.

Thx. Will look into the J1772. Seems there are a few of those around too.

Great video. One Q though. Iirc the statiator charger is a 5 a charger so not really a quick charge option? I mean how long time to charge to 85% when connected via J1772? Same as if you charged at home, as the statiator is limiting the charging?

Yep, I really wish the Satiator was faster, but I guess they had to make some compromises to make it fanless mostly small.

It doesn't charge any faster off of J1772 than at home, but I personally have plenty of time while I'm at work to charge up.

Yeah the amp was what hold me back from buying it when it was first launched. Great formfactor, but should have a little more ompf.
Those adaptto guys runs like 5 times quicker with their onboard server PSU.

That remind me this back in 2015 8) :

BTW Chademo can take as low as 50V on some stations...

ALso the Chademo connector is expensive!!! however the cheapest solution remain 3D printed connector ( at your own risk) or using the TESLA adapter witch is about 300$
