Hi, I recently got interested in electric bikes. Then I found an electric bike at a local pawn shop. It's a "taotao". I'm pretty sure it's a Chinese piece of crap. It was very cheap because it didn't have the charger.

What kind of charger do I need to buy?

The battery says it is a 36v battery with a port that looks like it takes a 3 pin xlr plug.

It is a 11ah battery. Does the amps of the charger matter?

Thank you

There's several types of "36V" batteries. Would need to know the type you have to be sure. If it's just 3 12V sla batteries in series like most older electric scooters came with then you can get a cheap charger like this.

If it's some form of lithium battery pack with a bms it becomes a little more complicated.

If you weigh the battery, I can give you a pretty good guess at what type it is. I suppose there's a feint chance that it fould be Nimhs, which would complicate things. Does it have a label on it to give a clue whether it's lithium?

It has a crossed out trash can on the lable. Underneath it says Pb and Li polymer.

It also has 2 strings of numbers and letters under the barcode.
