I'm not into welding myself, but if i were to choose a welding machine I'd go for Tig/Mig machine, especially when you can buy them around $200, and even with optional '3 in 1' stick welding option too.
The one you linked is for stick welding only, which doesn't make the prettiest welds, and looks a bit heavy and problematic to use when you have to hold the welding machine in one hand with thick thick wire attached (or, two wires actually - one for powering the device and the other one for connecting to the welded part). I can imagine such device just getting in the way, especially when the welding stick is new and still long.
