So, just how do you check your cell voltage monitors, etc? I have some 8.5 digit HP3458A multimeters and precision meter calibrators accurate to sub-parts per million, so I'm covered. Most home multimeters are rather inaccurate... +/- 30 mV on a typical 3.5 digit meter is doing real good (I've checked dozens of them).

One thing that you might find handy to have is some nifty little devices made by http://www.voltagestandard.com/ They are inexpensive little precision voltage references (.01%) powered by a 9V battery. I have several and they work well. They are available in several voltages that are in the range of what somebody playing with cell monitors, etc might be interested in. He offers periodic re-calibration for dirt cheap.

Way cool 8) and only $25 plus shipping for the 0.01% version!! That should be plenty accurate for our needs. Thank you!!!

To give you an idea what these little puppies can do, last December I calibrated one to 4.096000V. It has been knocking around in a desk drawer for 6+ months. I just switched it on and it came up at 4.096000V. After 10 minutes it read 4.095997V. Not too shabby... especially considering that when I calibrated it the house was around 60 degrees and today it was at 75 degrees.
