Chinese EVs at CES

This is sad.. even for me as European.
It has an 800-volt electric architecture—very few U.S.-spec EVs do, but China overwhelmingly leads the way there—and can supposedly fast-charge from 10% to 80% in under 12 minutes. It'll handle charging speeds of up to 550 kW, just almost nowhere in the U.S., since EV chargers that powerful barely even exist over here.
.. our fast charge network is 4000 stations with 150kW, very few capable of 375kW.. rest of them is 50kW or less. Or 'residential' stations 11 or 22kW.

When it's this '12m charge for most if your capacity' which would totally remove all the negative nancies practicality problems.

That Seekr btw looks pretty slick. And more practical. The SUV with that flatscreen tv .. I don't think we need such a screen for something intended to be driven by someone paying attention to the road, I don't even think you need one for a front passenger. And the excuse of 'it's for the children' is hard to bring up since those will be in the back..

Well, that and 500KW capable DCFC's on every corner and Interstate exit. Having the architecture and batteries is only a piece of the puzzle. I suspect it won't be long until we see megawatt DCFC chargers, at least in China.

When it's this '12m charge for most if your capacity' which would totally remove all the negative nancies practicality problems.

Well considering they have this '12m charge for 80% capacity', say they have action radius of 300 miles, that's 240 mile range in 12m.

I think this is acceptable enough already, if omnipresent.

I rather have them focus on making this available in as many places as possible, then have a few stations be capable of even higher currents. They should decide on single standards to help with adoption.

Ofc, as a non car driver, 12m for me is perfectly acceptable... maybe for someone who has to use it constantly it's not.

Our highway network has plenty of petrol stations, strategically located at the off ramps in many places. But our laws don't allow them to electrify, they need to apply for new permits and so on. Because the politicians thought it would hinder innovation, better to let all those startups place new charging stations.. in much less strategicly smart places because the good one's were taken decades ago.

I swear it's not technical limitations which inhibit a better environment, it's human nature to make things needlessly complicated.
