Hi Everyone,

First, let me say I appreciate everyone here in the community sharing knowledge and E-Bike culture. Thank you for being awesome, I have learned a lot in the last year.

Here's the relevant info:
  • Mario E Bike Retro
  • 52v 17.5a Battery
  • Intelligent 860c Display
  • 48v 1000w MAC Rear Hub Motor
  • ASI BAC 800 Controller
Key note: The controller comes with a dongle that loops together pins 12 and 16 (see image below), that when in use, it limits the top speed to 13.8mph (22kph). If it is not in use, then the speed is not restricted.

The Issue:

Basically, the bike is too slow on paths when in restricted mode, and too fast when unrestricted even at Level 1.

No matter what I set the Speed Limit to in the Admin/Advanced settings (using 1919 as password), it is not respected by the bike. For example, if I set it to 12mph (19kph), the top speed limit will still be 22kph (when using the speed limiter dongle).

Is there a way to wire up my controller so that the limit set in the display is actually used? Or am I doomed to buy a new controller because ASI is ridiculous when it comes to accessing a retail bought product of theirs?

Here is the wiring diagram filled out to the best of my ability.
