I have a CYC Photon (and SW102), and it is stuck on 29" wheel size (I'd like 26"). For some reason the wheel size has to be made in the SW102, and not in the app. This is the second time this has happened to my setup (1st was fixed with a new SW102 for a bit). CYC looking into it, but no fix so far. I have a fully stock Photon (including CYC), but without throttle (physical not attached and turned off in app).

I am wondering who else has this issue (I know there are some) and what setup they have?

Just to update: CYC (direct) are really helpful and I have been impressed by the service. Obviously diagnosing/fixing this is made more difficult by being remote. Looks like a new SW102 might be the fix.

You aren't the first with that problem. Sounds like they ended up getting a new display also. My guess is it's a firmware issue and they don't seem to have any way to update the display firmware. Guess they just decided it was easier to ship replacements. Kinda disappointing if you ask me.

Yup, I just went through this same exact issue. You have a wrongly configured SW102. Whoever you bought your kit from needs to replace the SW102 with the correct piece. Unfortunately, there seems to be no way for an end user to update SW102 firmware.

I have the same problem (can't adjust wheel size), with the DS103 controller/display.

As a possible workaround, if you can connect with the mobile app, you can change the wheel size in the app and the display should also update - at least that's what happened with mine (Photon & DS103).

Unfortunately you cannot update with the mobile app (the SW102 overrides anything you do with the app).

Just to update: I have a new SW102, its fitted and working. I tried both the old SW102 after using the new one to change wheel size, and both were stuck on 29" still.

The new one has a FW version 1015 and both old ones had a FW version of 1011 (So maybe they have fixed it?) What firmware did people have?

Pity the DS103 has the same issue, that was going to be my 'out of warranty' fix. :-(

Per the Photon thread, starting about here.

Just finishing up my CYC Photon build and tried setting wheel size on the SW 102 display. The drop down menu in the setup on shows choices in millimeters (mm). There are no choices for bike wheel sizes in inches such as 20", 26" 27.5" 29 I ch , or 700c in the dropdown list. My wheels are 20" also know as 406mm. So I set the size to 406mm and at 18 mph it would only display 8mph. I then measured the circumference of the tire at 61" iron 1,550mm. I manually entered 1550mm in the wheel setup. The speed readout and trip distance is now very close to my Garmin GPS computer. My SW02 firmware is 1021 LC and the HW is 230. Has anyone experienced this? All online I formation indicates I should be seeing a dropdown menu with preset wheel diameters and no mention of manual inputs os size in millimeters.

My wheels are 20" also know as 406mm.

406 mm = 16 inches, or the diameter of the rim bead seat of a 20 inch wheel.

An actual 20 inch dimension is equal to 508 mm.

So you are saying you have to enter the circumference not the diameter?

Yes, Confirmed with CYC that the current firmware now only permits setting the circumference of tire in millimeters. This requires a actual measurement of the inflated tire. The support staff indicated the they made the change to allow more accurate calibration since each difderent brand/model of tire may have different aspect ratios. Based on their response, I have set my circumference size with the display setup function. My speed and distance exactly tracts my Garmin GPS. Also, the very latest SW102 manual (2024) on CYC's website has been changed to reflect this new process for wheel size setup.
