Please assist me with troubleshooting a Cycle Analyst 3.1 which has the following
issues:
1. Cycling through screens consistent with the last setup parameters.
2. Displays current speed
3. 24 pole PAS sesnor detected
(Throttle signal has been routed to the VESC controller).
I am using a VESC Lipsky controller and Stand Alone CA3 Shunt. Previously, the CA was connected to a Sabvoton ML series controller for almost 4 years after I creating a five-pin connector for Sabvoton controller

Hey John, this sounds like a CA3 that has had a ground trace break in the button membrane circuit, potentially from water ingress in between the layers. Can you open up the CA3, unplug the header from the membrane button circuit and just use a piece of metal to short the middle pin to either of the side pins and confirm that this makes the right button press behavior? If so then the fix of replacing a new front enclosure will be easy peasy.
Justin My Reply to Justin after attempting resolve the issue by shorting connector pins for the screen ribbon (3/25):
Hi Justin.
Well, that did not work unless I did not understand the instructions for to shorting the middle pin. I have attached images of the circuit board and what I believe were the three pins you referred to in those instructions. It reminded me of successful repair from back in the day. Life was so simple then. John

Hi John,
You can swap the CA's enclosure and fix the buttons issue with this product: Front CA Enclosure.
Please let me know if you have any questions.

It was unnecessary for me to order another CA3 screen because I own 3 CA3s. So I compared the ohms when pressing the button with a meter and all three screens had almost identically values.
I swapped the screen but the CA3 in question was still non responsive to button pressing. It just randomly displayed screens or pop ups that were selected during the initial setup.
Any other suggestions?
Thank you.
PS: As stated in my original email message to support, this CA3 is also unable to connect to my pc for a reset. I have a total of 3 CA3s and only this one cannot connect to the pc utility. Follow led Justin suggestion to short pins, bust didn't help either

issues:
- I cannot configure the Cycle Analyst 3.1 (CA). because CA screen buttons are not working.
- A communication port becomes available upon connecting the TRS USB cable to the pc, but I cannot enter the Setup Menu, or connect the CA to the Setup Utility program.
- Strange: Connecting the CA to a pc does appear to rule out any connection issues between the CA and front panel buttons because I am able toggle through the current setup, but there is no response when I attempt to enter the Setup Menu on the CA.
- Immediately, after disconnecting the CA from the PC, panel buttons continue to be unresponsive.
- The throttle, electric braking, auxiliary digital (PAS) and analog (power) controls connected to the Cycle Analyst 3.1 operate normally.
- Given the above issues resetting the CA after a ride is not possible.
