Cyclone-TW or Cyclone-USA

I am thinking of ordering a Cyclone 500 watt single chain-ring kit and have a few questions.----Cyclone-TW does NOT answer emails sent from their site & I am concerned that if I have warranty problems etc. that I will not be able to communicate w/ them---does anyone have an active email address for them? I keep hearing about a guy named Paco w/ Cyclone-TW who seems to be a good guy but I have not found him yet.

When I look at their photos of the kit they do not show the freewheel or the brake levers w/stops (cuts the motor off when brake lever is depressed)---are these included? If the stops are not included does the harness provide for them & if so can e-scooter stops be added?

I do have good communication w/ Cyclone-USA & have exchanged several emails w/ them.----Jim Olsen I think.

Cyclone-TW is much cheaper than Cyclone-USA but I don't want to buy into a bunch of problems.

I just found a post elsewhere that said the brake lever-stops are NOT included from Taiwan---that leaves the question of does the Taiwan wiring harness provide connection for them & also the freewheel question.

I have nothing but good things to say about Cyclone-USA and Jim.

Others here have had good experience with cyclone-TW, I have not had any interaction with TW.

TW is cheaper and someone else asked the same question about the brake handles and someone on the forum told him they were included. I personally can not confirm this. But I too have had problems getting email response from TW. I've written them a few times and they never responded. I have to agree the Jim Olsen is good to work with. He is very helpful and a good person to have in your corner if you have problems. And we all have problems sooner or later. I have 2 360w setup and I like so many others have had problems with the Dicta freewheel on the crank. Jim relized what was causing the problem and sent me a quick fix. Those brake handles you asked about also were a problem. On my wife's bike they snapped off while she was braking. Goos thing she rides slow and she was able to drag her feet to stop. I sent Jim pick of the broken handles and he check his inventory (I think he said a few hundred of them) and found they all had a molding defect. It was a small issue that could be corrected with a sharp knife. He sent me replacement handles + spares with a note thanking me for finding all the falts in the Cyclone system......LOL :lol: If it wasn't for the high price of the Cyclone motors and the fact I don't like having the controller built int othe motor I would buy more of them.

1) Do ALL of your kits include the brake-lever stops---(when brake lever is depressed the motor automatically stops)? NOT including the brake-lever stops is is extra 15USD

2) What is the warranty & how is it handled? we have less then 0.5 % problem motor, we give one year warranty, if any problem, please send it back to us we will repair it.

3) What are the advantages of purchasing through you instead of Cyclone-USA? Do ALL of your kits include a complete wiring harness?---I DO NOT see them in your pictures. CYCLONE USA is our USA dealer price is higher,
If you order from Factory Taiwan ( cyclone-tw), we have all kit in stock and price is good, send kit with in 5 days after you order.

4) Does the wiring harness provide connectors for the brake-stops ----- yes

Honestly my attempt to contact them was before I purchased the kits and that was 2 or 3 years ago so I have no idea what address I used. But I got the address from their site. Therefore, I should have received a response. Any good company would have responded at least to give me another address or they should have pased my email onto the correct person to deal with my question and that person should have contacted me. Bottom line they couldn't be bothered.......... I have heard the same problem from several others but also stories of people the say they have had no problem. My feeling is it's a crap shoot if you will get a response or not. That's why i desided it was worth the added cost to deal with Jim Olsen here in the US.

Good to hear you got through, Paco has always been very fast responding for me and helpful with my enquiries
if you want certain sticker (wattage wise) on your motor he will also do this for you before sending ie. if you buy 1000watt for example he will attach 200watt stickers for you.

Hey Kevinator!---I haven't been here in a while---too busy ordering parts you know! I ended up ordering a 24 volt 650 watt triple chainring kit---I am now impatiently trying to wait for it and the Gomier trike to arrive as most other parts are here now! Here is a link so you can keep track of the build.http://visforvoltage.org/forum/8649...er-w-cyclone-24-v-650-watt-almost-ready-start I intend to mount the motor on the back side of the seat post so it is out of the way---hopefully I can do that as the motor chain will have to have one side on the front of the front derailleur & one side on the back side---I hope I can accomplish it--that would make for a slick installation. I ordered a 24" x 8" x 9" tool red tool box (red trike) to mount centered over the rear axle for my 4-33 amphr SLA batteries & the rear basket will set on top. The bike has chopper-style handle bars.
