Similar things like this have been done allready, but I thought I'd share this one.
I got these driving lites: http://www.truckaddons.com/Catalog/subpages/EagleEyeFogDriving01.asp
The 1862BW Clear lens, which is a a m11 20w halogen.
Inspired from this article:

Then I got the Cree R2 drop in's:
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.11836
I cut off the M11 with a dremal cut off wheel right behind the lip of the front lens so the R2 would have a nice glass lens, (saftey glasses please, flying glass  ).
Then solderd wires on the R2 and reassembled the driving lite, runs off my 12v booster pack and gives pleanty of lite.
I tried just the 20w m11, but it was too broad a beam, (blinded on coming traffic), and drew 20w, the Cree is a narrow beam and a softer lite, and I don't get high beams flashed at me any more.
