Does anyone know where to find a good 16s 60v 100a Bms?

I'm trying to find a BMS to go with my 16s8p Samsung 25r battery pack. I'll be running a controller rated for 90 amps. I'm thinking a 16s60v100a BMS will do the trick but haven't been able to find one that's not huge. I found one on ebay but it's GIGANTIC! http://www.ebay.com/itm/60V-67-2V-16S-100A-Lithium-ion-Li-ion-Li-Po-LiPo-Polymer-Battery-BMS-PCB-System-/221762998358

I need something smaller but of the same specs/price. Anyone know of any?

thanks all

I had a similar question recently about 18S units and the links may be of use: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=76338

that helps a bit thank you.. I found a bms close enough to what I need from following one of the links you posted. The specs are a bit inconsistent though. Don't know if it's a typo or what's going on. Not a lot of reviews for this BMS either. Still unsure of what to do. I sent the manufacturer a message. Guess I'll see if they respond. Here is what I found: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/product/16S-60V-67-2V-lithium-ion-battery-BMS-with-80A-constant-working-current-for-li-ion/1379203_32307070606.html

thanks Punx0r

I think the 60A is a mistake. Otherwise, it looks like an 80A BMS (24 FETs can't be bad). It looks broadly similar to an 80A unit from BesTech:

Yeah, it seems like that "60A Max Constant Discharge" claim is a typo. Thanks for the link to that BesTech board. I sent them a message for a quote. From what I understand though. They only deal in bulk, but if you make like your going to buy in larger quantities you can get a sample. ??? I don't know. I'll see what they say. I said I wanted a sample.

I would trust buying from BesTech more, but they are probably asking more for their Bms's.

Have you ever looked into the option of no BMS coupled with the Cycle Analyst and Balancing charger?

Just wondering. I hear this is an option as well, but haven't been able to find any balancing chargers that are for this purpose.

Minimum order from BesTech is apparently 2 units: https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=50207

No BMS and balance charger is a popular option for people using RC lipo batteries. The main disadvantage is have to break series the main connections and connect balance wires to charge. You also have no protection against over-discharge (either a single cell, or the whole pack to a slow drain in storage).

Ok, yeah I messaged with BesTech and they had a 80a bms that was the right size and everything that seemed like it would work for me, but I don't want to buy 2. I don't know if the one is going to be exactly what I need. But one of the links you provided earlier led me to this BMS: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/16S-60V-67-2V-lithium-ion-battery-BMS-with-80A-constant-working-current-for-li-ion/32307070606.html?spm=2114.13010208.99999999.264.2sz6Nb
There is only one review, but there is a warranty and the seller has been very communicative. Maybe I'll buy this BMS.

I already bought this BMS before I upgraded my controller: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/16S-Li-ion-Lipo-Batteries-Protection-Board-BMS-System-60V-67-2V-50A-Continuous-Discharge-Current/32263328170.html
It's 50-60 amps continuous. Do you think that BMS will limit the current output to 50-60a? My controller is 90a capable. It doesn't say the max discharge of the BMS and I've asked the seller, but no response. I don't know, Maybe I'll try this bms first since I've already bought it and check the Cycle Analyst to see the amount of amperage I'm putting out. If it's severely limiting my watts output than I'll just upgrade. What do you think about that?

Similar units:

You can see the over-current spec is usually around three times continuous current.
