Looking for a good alternative alternative to disc brakes. They do the job and stop wheels on all our bikes, include the heavy cargo, but at what cost: I find myself constantly readjusting wheels and bending back rotors because they keep grinding on the pads. It seems one hard break a full power is enough to scew up things again. I kept buying more expensive ones figuring maybe it's low quality but it did not really help, so I would like to go back to truly low maintenance brakes, aka drum or roller brakes.
Which models would you recommend ? What's your experience with them ? How to you deal with overheating on long slopes ?
have a couple of shimano c6000, but they feel swampy. Perhaps compression less tubes would help. Otherwise I know that sachs and SA used to make very good drum brakes, but I don't know what's the current state of things.
