Hi, I foolishly bought one of these beautiful Faraday Cortland e-Bikes without looking it up first.
It's brand new, flawless, and the battery will not charge. My guess is someone bought it as a gift, and then it sat in a garage until the battery became un-chargeable.

The battery is inside the frame, but the bigger issue is the company was bought by a hedge fund and they dumped it, so they're out of business. I have been unable to find a solution or even a comprehensible thread of information to make this bike an e-Bike again. Batteries are apparently unavailable, and one thread said the design is proprietary so a machined battery wouldn't work.

There are two beautiful models of the Faraday, what is everyone else doing to solve this?
Your thoughts and advice would be appreciated.

I see mentions over on the EBR Faraday forum about owners wiring up a (presumably 36-volt) water bottle battery in place of the integrated battery. Perhaps some of them will respond with a "how-to".

I used a somewhat similar bolt-on "shark" battery on a step thru e-bike build, here.

This guy claims on the Faraday facebook forum to be able to rebuild the packs. It may not be worth it, depending on what he charges, I believe it's a 12S or 51.V battery because that's all the cells they could fit inside the tube, I also recall a thread here where a member tried to refurbish it himself, but the BMS apparently locks up if disconnected. Search engine for this forum ain't very good, so I can't find that thread.,
