electric formel junior car, should I do it?

hello,

early march I bought two of them, so I want to convert one to electric drivetrain and make it street legal (15kW max.)?
I have the 16kg light 35kW motor and a sevcon G8045 controller from my race bike.

Or should I built a car for hill climbs/race tracks?
Is there any light 70-80kW (peak) motor available?


The car weights around 400kg and has a BMW K100 inline 4cyl. engine (105HP) with 5 speed gearbox in it.

if these are intact it would make more sense to use your motor in a kit car where you have more freedom to get the parts together and then you would not lose one of these which are fine pieces of work just as they are.

find a lightweight kit car, build it up with the 35kW motor imo.

I suspect making it street legal might be quite difficult and even end up looking a bit Frankensteinish !
Hill climb could work but you would need more than a few dollars of battery etc.
