Electric Outboard Project

Hi All - I am making an electric outboard using inrunner submersible BLDC motors but am having a nightmare finding the right controller that would work! I am trying to keep the project at 36v, as I already have a 4kWh pack.

there are 2 motors that I want to control proportionally for steering - this might not work but worth a try!

My aim is to want 2X controllers of 80A continuous, with possible peaks of 120 depending on how the motors handle it.

Any suggestions? I have found the Kelly Controller but I think its sensored only

Have tested the motors with an RC style ESC short term but I doubt they would last long - but the motors have some good power i think!

It’s easy enough to place hall sensors or use an encoder on a sensorless motor. Otherwise a lot of the esc:s should work. What motors are you using?

Bellissimo. Stavo anche guardando l'85165. Vorrei usarlo come fuoribordo su una barca a vela da 23 piedi. Ho bisogno di navigare a 4 nodi e una spinta di 150 libbre. Sto piangendo a 48v lifepo4. Spero di avere tue notizie. Per ora ho messo due trolling da 1800w e funziona.

CIAO. So che è un incubo per i sensorless. Ho provato un jarak. Stupendo ma va molto lentamente al contrario. Ora sto aspettando un greentime da 80 ah che mi è stato promesso avrà il 100% di inversione
