hi
could some one please help me with the fitting of this new bms,the old bms that I am replacing just had the 2 wires coming from the battery and you used the wires for both charging and power the new bms when fitted has separate wires for the power and charging and iv sorted this out what I am having trouble with is the balance wires from the battery it has 16 wires for the 16 cells I have on the 48 volt battery but the bms only has 15 wires the old one had 16 so why does this new one have 1 less

you got the cheapest of the cheapest. too bad they charged you so much for it. what was wrong with the old BMS? or did you test it before replacing it?

to use the red BMS in the link, you would connect the B+ terminal of the battery to the B+ spot on the lower right of the BMS.

you can do that with a small wire of the same size as the sense wires. that makes up the top of the sense wire series.

but do not hook up P+ to B+ at that spot on the BMS. run your power lead directly from the battery positive to the P+ spot on the motor controller.

the bottom sense wire is the B- spot on the BMS.

thanks mate for your reply iv read it over and over again and cant get my head around how you have said to wire it up iv never done this before and its way over my head. so iv taken some pics of the bms could you take a look please and explain what I need to do to wire this to my battery I have the connectors and wire just need to know what goes where
could you explain has non tech as possible also I still don't know what to do with the problem of my bms only having 15 sensor wires and my battery having 16 sensor connectors

i did explain in a nontech as possible fashion. where it is labeled B+ on the BMS is where you connect the 16th sense wire which you have make yourself from the old BMS sense wire. would it just be easier to fix the old BMS if this is too complicated?

post up your pictures in your thread and not on a hosted website please.

wired it all up and its running just had a run out to get some power out of the battery to see if it charges ok thanks for all your help
