Hi,
I was exploring the lubrication of my freehub on a G310. The lock nuts were not particularly tight. Easily spun off. With them removed, it was easy to add some oil (used Phil Woods Tenancious Oil; it was handy).
Setting up the locknuts wasn't so straightforward though. The lower lock nut is really quite inaccessible ... the edge of the freehub body gets in the way. And if you set it up a little too tight, the freehub binds. And once it binds, getting it to release to free things up is challenging. I ended up tapping on the freehub body while applying some traction in an axial direction. Seemed to do the trick. Super not obvious if the freehub is serviceable.
Questions:
1- Anyone had to replace the freehub?
2- What is the preferred method to set up the adjustment of the bearings?
I took a look at the video on the G310/311 disassembly on Grin ... helpful but didn't cover this area of the motor assembly.
Thanks,
Mike
