G310 speed/thermistor & KT Controller/Display

My ebike has an older Bafang G310 48v rear hub motor and a KT 22-amp sine wave controller/LCD8H display (I limit it to 13 amps). Works great.

I'd like to pick up another G310, because it's hard to find them anymore. However, the G310 at Grin (ebikes.ca) now has a combined speed and thermistor signal on one wire. I'd like to make sure the motor would still work OK with my KT controller (that the controller would not be confused by the two signals).

Can anyone confirm that this combination works? Is the Grin method of speed/thermistor on the same wire "standard"? Or at least, is it recognized by the KT system?

Thanx much.

Seems like a question for Grin to me. Maybe someone here knows. But Grin should certainly know.

I have posed the question to Grin, but haven't heard back yet. I just thought I'd see if any forum members had gone down this road before and had the answer.

Grin (ebikes.ca) says they doubt that the G310 would work with a non-Grin controller (e.g., KT), and they won't modify the motor to remove the thermistor signal.

Is this something that should be easy for me to do? Should I be able to just open up the motor and clip the thermistor wire? I understand that the thermistor and speed are on the same wire, and Grin's controller demultiplexes the signal. I wonder: if I could figure out how to clip the thermistor signal, would the speed signal look "normal" to a controller?

I really like these quiet little motors. I'd love to be able to make them work with my KT systems. Thanx much for any information that can help me get there.
