I wonder if anyone can help. just bought with known prob. Bike runs a little way then cuts out unit on handle bar lights all 3 on then cut out 20yds 500yds anything up to half a mile all dead take out batt put in again all ok batt terminals tight dont make any difference to running on rough terrain. 2 good batts tried and still same prob.

Let stand out in the good weather with old battery back in and you can hear it cutting in and turning of again. left it like that overnight and then re charged batt took out well climbed big hill pedalec cuts in ok and motor no prob but cant be sure of cutting out bit when did lights behaved differrently could it be bit on handle bar causing the prob.
I dont have prob following test procedures got multi meter jus no info on this model which I like over my newer powabyke x24
about 5 yr old brushlesss motor any help much appreciated or links

I would try putting the VOM on the battery terminals (each battery, one at a time if more than one battery) and riding the bike. It is possible that there are multiple cells bad in the battery that once it sat a min. or two would indicate enough voltage to run the bike again but cut out shortly after a load was placed on it.

thanks for that but both batts nearly new and power other bikes ok. I did conect up with seperate leads to bike terminals as they are not batteries for that model but same volts and amps

My guess is that your bike has a loose connection somewhere.
Closely inspect all connectors for tight fitting contacts.

i agree with wrench. your pm reply mentioned a noise coming from the handlebar so i bet there is a broken or frayed connection inside the handlebar thingy that holds the wires coming up from your controller that go to the switch. can you take any pictures or can you disassemble the throttle itself where the wires are?
