Has anyone had any experience with the gray encased LifePO4 batteries being auctioned on ebay? There's a while bunch of auctions, I'm thinking the price for the 48v 20ah for $670 looks pretty good. Anyone know if the seller is reputable and if the batteries are any good?

Thanks for any advice - I'm a newbe e-biker - been commuting to work 25 miles each way on my Cannodale / phonix racer with 48v 20ah SLA's (60 plus lbs.) - I need to lighten my load!!

Thanks in advance for any recommendations!

Sorry here it is

Humm - so is this one of the big differences with Ping batteries? Thanks!

Looks kinda iffy with that low discharge rate and 800 cycles to 60%. Most batteries are rated to 80% so that seem little weird. I wonder if you could pull 800 cycles out of normal Lithium cobalt cells if you were using 60%.

Pings new 48v 20Ah packs are 40A continuous, huge difference, they are only 590$+shipping direct from ping. That auction looks like a rip off.
No way they could power a 5 series motor. They new ping cells probably could, but my older pack probably wouldn't. It works great for my 407 though.

how do you buy direct from Ping - I've been bidding and keep getting out bid - does he sell direct?

Just email him. The auctions go too high.

Ping does sell direct and can be contacted at Li Ping [pingping227@hotmail.com].
