Hey guys or gals if there are any, i was just wondering if you have used any other connectors for hall wires other than those cheap bulky Chinese connectors. I also wanted to know how many amps go through the hall wires. I was thinking of using a cat-5 connector like this https://www.google.com/search?q=cat-5%20connector&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=cBjeUcPDJa-84APl8oC4Cg&biw=1920&bih=968&sei=chjeUbCAF5K24AOOgIHYBQ for the hall wires but am not sure if they would work with the amperage. thanks for you help guys!

Current is minimal and majority will be carried by the red/black +5v supply wiring.

I recently decided on Futaba servo connectors because I had a crimper and they fit through axle hardware. Requires 2qty so I put the 3 signal wires in one and the +5v pair in the other. Also began using them for throttle connections as well.

An RJ11 (6 position) is a lot smaller than an 8 position cat 3/5 connector and no crossover to mess with. Should work fine if you can keep it dry, I've bought some 6 position mini dins to use on mine. You'd get a much better connection soldering them than you'll get with the crimp RJ/cat 5 connectors.

From Amberwolf and Kingfish, use a micro-B size USB extension cable for the 5 small hall-wires on a hub motor. Cut the extension in half, and solder the bare ends to the hub and the controller hall wires. Both ends fit through the hole in the M14 nut, and also the hole of a variety of torque arms.

The MAC geared hub uses an M14 nut, the Bafang-BPM uses the smaller M12 nut.

Is it important to be able to completely remove the nut? Why?
I am going to use 20mm waterproof connectors so i will not be able to remove the axle nut.

i use jst-sm for all signal cables on my bike, and never had a problem. those connectors are already installed on the CA, so i install those one the controller and motor side as well.
initial costs are a bit high, as you have to buy the crimping tool, but from that point it's great.
