Have you ridden a Keyde P series? (P100 for minimal assist kid's off road build)

Questions: How does the torque and rpm input data translate for assistance on a Keyde P series? Basically, how does it ride? It seems like it could assume a gear from the speed and not give too much torque in a low gear, but maybe it isn't that sophisticated? I'm wondering if the effect is torque multiplicative, or just sensing whether you are pedaling or not. Whether there is overrun when stopping pedaling, etc. I wonder if the behavior is tunable, but I can't gain access to the settings menu in the app without a hub to connect.

Background: Looking at a Keyde P100 as a solution for a kids bike so she can keep up better in the woods. She had borrowed e-bikes and the result is we both get more exercise and have more fun riding together, but the heavy ebike makes for more crashing during dismounts and more injury during crashes. The available ebikes that are good for a kid sized person and offroad capable are either $$$$ or way too heavy with way more power than needed.

I tested a P110 because it was advertised with a torquesensor, but I was really disappointed ☹️
It behaved completely unpredictable.

I would suggest a motor with a cassette integrated torquesensor, available from Bofeili, Aikema or Truckrun
Unfortunately, I've already ordered the Keyde, and garbage US politics/tariffs will make it hard to get many other options anytime soon. Did it just use the torque sensor to know if the user is pedaling, with no increase in assistance with increasing pedaling force? Can the amount of additional assistance with hill incline be adjusted? Unpredictability will absolutely ruin the experience for a kid...

It has no torquesensor at all, it seems to calculate the motor power from an acceleration sensor or incline sensor somehow.
That sounds like the S series from Keyde? I think the P110 and S110 use the same hub shell with different internals...

No, it was definitely the P110, see the post in the German forum.
That's unfortunate. I think I'll still build mine up and see if I can use it for anything. Maybe with the assist turned down enough, it will still do the job I bought it for... If not maybe it can go on a recumbent for hill climbing assistance.
