Help me figure out what I'm missing..

My "other pack" (other things I normally carry with me) consists of things not neccessarily for my bike, but for my travels...

"Other Pack" consists of..
1.) Small can of Axe Body Spray. ;)
2.) Spare Brush for my hair (or lack thereof).. (Have a "wire brush" in normal parts kit)
3.) Leatherman.
4.) Spare keys for bike batteries, lights and lock. (Bike Lock key has a small LED on it.)
5.) Zippo lighter on my belt. (Have 12v Cigarette lighter on front "cockpit".)
6.) Condoms. (Hey, I'm not married anymore.)
7.) Spare key for my sister's car. (Just in case she locks her keys in her car, AGAIN!)

And for those who are interested in what my pack looks like.. Here is it at 75%.. When I'm back home (I'm away on a business trip), I'll show you the whole shebang...

Considering that I stopped carrying anything at all, I'm like  .

In your toolbox you mentioned wire strippers, etc, but that does include nippers, something to cut wires, right?

I see rain gear for you, but what about your bike? Can it handle a real downpour? If so then at least a plastic bag for the throttle, since none are perfectly rainproof.

Speaking of throttles, where's your spare? You've got spare controller. You've got spare brake handle and 3speed switch, though I can't imagine why, but no spare throttle. The throttle is probably the most easily broken part on your bike.

Allen wrenches. I see lots of unnecessary tools listed, but the main tool for bikes isn't, which is an allen wrench for every size needed on your bike, including the little one for swapping out the throttle above.

Brake handle is the electronic type for motor cutoff/regen.
Three speed switch uses very thin wires and sometimes melts a little. (Usually after I've forgotten to turn off the blinkers and they run for a few hours, instead of 40 sec or so).
Cutters/Nippers/Dykes. Whatever you call them, I have.
Allen Keys are part of the regular tool kit.
Already mentioned I have sandwich bags for covering controller, I use them for the throttle too.. FWIW, if one of the throttles break, I can always splice into the other controller's throttle line and run both controllers on one throttle... (And yes, I've done that before).

Speaking of, "I've done that before", just Two days ago, I had to ride 20+ miles in VERY heavy downpour.. Both my bike and I made it home without issue... So, yeah, my bike handles the rain quite well!

P.S. When I'm done working on the bike, the front controller will be in a waterproof container.

I might have someone make me a diamond plate aluminum box for the center... I'm not sure yet.

AIIIIEEEEEEEE, diamond plate box :!: Why not make it out of cheese grater's. If it is the same stuff I have, the result on you clothes and skin will be the same. It is intended as a non-slip surface.

Yeah, I would agree with you, IF I ever pedal... Also the box would be way thinner than the space between my knees.

The bigger the bag the more you will fill it up. All that stuuf is going to slow you down. What no man's land are you heading out to.

8 or so more pounds is not going to make a difference when there's already 300+ lbs (bike and me) to be moved.
That is my every day kit!
Should I need to carry more stuff (like groceries), I have two side panniers that I can attach and Bungees for the back too. (Not to mention the front basket and handlebars....)
;)

You have to realize that this is a culmination of 4 1/2 years of riding my ebikes and the kit has grown from just a set of hex wrenches to what it is today. A little bit here and a little bit there adds up over a 4 year period.

Maybe I should not ask, because this thread is already very long, but, if you drive a car, what would you carry ?

The kit from my ebike, of course.. DUH! LOL.
With my last car, I had AAA... And a spare tire/jack/tire iron.. (and various spare fuses and "car emergency kit".) That's about it.

(What does the length of this thread have to do with anything?)

Funny thing happened to me on the way to the forum...

Well... Riding along the bicycle lane today, I had to swerve around "debris" in the lane..

Here it is..(After I collected it up from all over the bicycle lane and roadway..

FREE stuff! An almost complete set of sockets and allen wrenches. (SAE and Metric), adjustible wrench, flat-blade screwdriver and bits.. LOL

So for the past week I go with just the bare essentials...
(Not my usual kit)

What happens today?

Broken rear brake light AND left brake handle...
I'm at kmart right now picking up a new bulb.. Taped up the brake handle and will have to wait to get home to replace it!
:(
