Hub motor with RC ESC anyone?

I have. The run just fine. However you will be running that RC ESC in a way that it is not happy. If you want to avoid halls than a peddle first controller is a much better option. I have used a few from BMS Battery and they work very well. Start up is 9 out of 10 times w/o Issue.

There's a reason why the guys often run RC motor ebikes on ebike controllers, rather than RC controllers....

just don't plan on low speed hill climbing with the motor bogged down..
if you run them on the right motor at the right voltage, pedal your way up to speed and they work aparently.. ( I use an HV110 on an RC motor.. but i know Johnrobholmes has run them on hubs.. )
