I have a handful of adapters,
Soneil Canada 36V 1A
Hobby King 15V 7A
Dell 12V 18A
A Cisco adapter with 12V 2A and 5V 3A
Plantronics 9V 0.5A
Jabra 7.5V 0.65A
Lots of Dell 12V 65A

I need to achieve 19V and 1.58A for my router.
Can I just use a 1.5A fuse, and somehow try to get 19V, perhaps with a buck up or down converter with the Soneil 36V 1A, HK 15V 7A, Dell 12V 8A or Cisco 12V 2A.

I do currently have a 2nd router, and was wondering if its wise to solder in a parallel connector, my gut tells me its not wise thats why I have been looking at my adapters and PSU's.

Is it true if I were to increase voltage the current drops, and decrease voltage the current increases?

I did NOT want to buy one for $15 on ebay, because I have all these adapter. I thought for sure I had a 19V 2+A one laying around.

The Amp rating on those adaptors is the "Maximum" they can reliably supply, whilst the 1.8 A is the "minimum" that your router needs"
Have you tried the HK 15v supply, ?.. It may well run fine from that straight off

I did not try it because I did not want to break or fry the router. I guess it wouldnt really hurt would it, its lower voltage. I guess I was too focused on trying to achieve 19V.

I thought maybe that 36V 1A one would be better, because I just needed to half the voltage and the amps would perhaps increase to 2A, thats why i asked the question in my first post. But I think thats to do with transformers, and not buck converters.

I will try the HK PSU, cant hurt nothing.
