interesting spy method

I thought it was interesting.. I doubt government would use this method.. maybe a PI
Why would they bother when they have free access to cell phones and computers...

I read something awhile ago where the NSA apparently spied on people using the USB as it emitted RF or something...
Anyone can spy on me, I don't really mind...

I am more concerned about ex gf's

You can buy a wireless connection for your computer that plugs into the USB port.

So, last Saturday I was walking through the parking lot where the 'Not a girlfriend from college' first tried to run me over. . .

I could go on about the woman calling and trying to disguise her voice to see if I'll answer questions for her poll, calling when relatives were living with me and asking them questions, vandalizing my house, of course the driving up the sidewalk at me, etc. This is a woman who wouldn't go out with me in college because she was so full of herself, as I was warned she would be. So now she gets in runs of calling me all day from work, etc., because she's decided her life sucks and I'm somehow obligated to do something about it because, well, I guess because she lives nearby and sees me or gawd knows why.

. . . .And as I crossed the driveway in the very spot where I was walking that first time, she came down the lane exactly where she was last time, looking down so she didn't see me and therefore didn't punch the throttle and lay down rubber come at me as she did last time and I was safe, for the moment. Dang, can't help but wonder if she might try something like that for spying. Lord knows SHE has a dreary life.

There's no substitute for the best.

Or they could just put a microphone in ANYTHING

This seems to prove that sound data can be embedded in the high refresh of an LED. The "spies" would still need to have that microphone in your place and also have a way to read the light. Maybe a sufficiently sophisticated camera could do it from a distance.

If you want to know how advanced and how to protect stuff from it.

Search Van Eck phreaking and be amazed, its an old school method too. Around longer than many people think. To counter it and other methods the tempest security cert was developed and is employed in secure facilities. Some of the cert requirements get petty nutty... Literally they have to certify nuts and screws to meet certain levels. I was fascinated by this stuff in the early 90s when I had no real life.

Some of my old CRT's had such an amazing picture... I remember one of my old screens doing crazy resolutions for the time..
I remember 60hz gave me headachs... I needed like 80hz plus to not see any flickering...

I have no more CRT's, Just a house full of lcd's... I kinda wish I had a CRT to run my 3d printer and any future machines...

My last CRT (Sony circa 1993) still performed amazingly well when I gave it away a few years ago to make room

Van Eck methods can still be used on LCDs and of course keyboards. Don't even think about a wireless keyboard if you are concerned about security, I've personally intercepted some of them, very easy.

I took the video to be about amateurs, not professionals. Which doesn't mean there might not be some guy experimenting in his, or more likely HIS PARENTS garage with all his free time since he can't get a job since he didn't finish high school. And maybe that garage is on the same block as Psycho Cindy's garage. And that would make it possible she might decide to PAY HIM to get one of these in place, even if he is quite the amateur. Not a job a real professional would be interested in, since it's of no use to anyone but her and she can't pay what the pro wants anyway. But this guy in dad's garage will take real pride in the fact he made real money. . . .
