Is this cheap watt meter any good?

Saw this on Ebay. Looks a lot like the WattsUp meter. Are they one and the same?

Mine was good for a couple of months and then died the other day. So not that good. I had a turnigy watt meter before and it last over a year. So they probably equal themselves out. Iused both to monitor a 54v battery whilst charging.

Saying that i have just purchased anothe chinese cheapy from the link above. Came to £8.00 GBP... :D
 
i was able to fix mine after it burned out. there is a 2k surface mount resistor in the linear voltage regulator that gets really hot and eventually burns up. i soldered a 3400 ohm 1/4 watt in to replace it and it works ok now. or maybe i burned that one up too at 80V. i go through them like potato chips, like i do with voltmeters.
 
Good and cheap. I use mine a lot to monitor charging and it's still working fine.

If you need rugged, water resistant, and high quality, then you want a cycleanalyst.
