A search shows they've been mentioned in passing a few times. Frames from "Santa Cruz" and the BB-drive is 48V from the Austrian company EGO. All quality components, but expensive. Based in British Columbia, SW Canada. They suggest using a backpack battery. Also available in Carbon-Fiber (CF) frames.

Very nice looking bikes. I agree though, the price is crazy high. I realize downhill bikes are expensive anyway but at that price I just don't get it.

I think throwing the battery in a backpack is kinda a cop-out on a commercial product too. I think mounting the battery is the hardest part of building an enjoyable e-bike. If I plunk down that kind of cash I expect a complete package ready to go.

Any idea what battery connector these guys are using? Looks like a large quick-disconnect. I am interested in this sort of arrangement - mid drive with compact backpack battery and am starting to explore suitable quick-connects.

a few sphereicals are using backpack batteries.. you should review their builds and ask for more details if needed..
here are some examples :

some big calls in that video I'm sure most of us ESers will roll our eyes at. That and they stylistically removed most of the motor sound out of the video, I'm no stranger to making noise but the sound cyclone motors make is the most irritating. Good luck to them anyway, if they sell a few units they will probably cover their outlay  .

I agree but wait no.
I think more the buyer need luck to have $6k for mid-drive e-hike.

At least the fork have cashima

ego-kits, santa cruz bikes, and krankedbikes are all doing great business, no worries there..
yes it is loud! but who makes a more durable yet quite mid-drive system for aggressive offroad??
no-one thats who..
build it for the highest offroad performance first, then worry about reducing price later.. or not..
i personally wont be getting a carbon bike for offroad anytime soon (or ever??).. but wouldnt mind riding/having one.. :)

Basically a Cyclone motor mounted to a high-end mountain bike. I've ridden the Santa cruise bikes, the latest 29" are amazing in the trails. Worth the money if you can afford them. Putting batteries on your back isn't something I would ever go with. My latest build is an old Kona stinky, it has enough room in the triangle for batteries. It is a DH frame, heavy but with electrics weight is less of an issue. The added stress from the motor and weight needs a more substantial frame vs. the run of the mill stuff. Even after finishing this ebike, it's more as a backup. My geared BMC setup will still be my ultimate trail ride. Stealthy, quiet and perfect for single track.

how about jumps, drops or big hits??
rear hub motor unsprung weight, etc??
ego batt is not very heavy but lacks significant range..

im not entering into the whole weight debate as the way i see it, 3 extra kgs of bike doesnt make a bit of difference in comparison to rider weights. I guess technically "the best" statement does ring true for a production bike, however as a production manufacturer I think they could of done better. More power and quieter....how about a gng style setup with enclosed 1st reduction. Quieter ... bafang, bosch, suntour all make excellent quiet mid drives but not possible on off the shelf carbon bikes.....bit gutless but enough to bolt up a hill.

I still think the first company to make a integrated midmount dh/fr alloy frame with high end specs and a chinese made heart at a price not in the stratosphere is going to make a mint.

The metro parks where I ride, being stealthy out weights the noise. I really don't want to announce myself especially when there are signs that say no motorized vehicles. There is also a large mountain bike community I don't want to piss off. Big hucks aren't available in the types of terrains I ride, still their are some good ramps and I take them every chance I can get. As long as you don't over power the BMC, I find it a very rugged and reliable setup. I should have a cyclone as well as a GNG mid drive build to compare to this summer, but I already know which bike I will be riding the most in the trails, my BMC.
