Hey guys,

Was wondering what is the most simple lipo to usb charge method.
Iv got all these spare 8ah lipo cells, I wanted to run them in 2s3p so i can use it to charge phones tablets on the boat.
Would this be okay to do?
also chuck on balance wires for charging and monitoring.

I bought a cheap Hobby King device to do exactly that. Alas, it never worked when I got it. It was supposed to work with 2s.

Seems simple and prob cost a fraction of the price compared to hk,
if it works, Ill make a few of these, my missus iphone drains fast, 2s 1p 8ah would be sweet for a handbag emergency charger lol.

Could try and just use a $1 USB DC charge cable http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/USB-to-3-5mm-Power-Charger-Cable-Adapter-DC-5V-Supply-Charge-Connector-Jack-New-/330708877957?pt=AU_CablesConnectors&hash=item4cffc90285&_uhb=1

Combined with one of these DC-DC stepdown converts for a few bucks
http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_trksid=p2047675.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0&_nkw=DC-DC+Converter+Step-down+Adjustable+Power+Supply+Module&_sacat=0&_from=R40

I wonder if the whole solution is on ebay?
*Edit*
Yeah looks like lots.
This one looks cool http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LM2596-DC-Adjustable-Converter-Step-Down-Power-Supply-Module-LED-Voltmeter-USB-/141082091995?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item20d925e1db&_uhb=1
Ahh Ebay, if this was in a store it doesn't matter how much the bits cost it would of still costed you $50.

Grabbed it from this search http://www.ebay.com.au/sch/i.html?_odkw=DC-DC+Converter+USB&_osacat=0&_from=R40&_trksid=p2045573.m570.l1313.TR0.TRC0.XDC-DC+Converter+USB+adjustable&_nkw=DC-DC+Converter+USB+adjustable&_sacat=0

Thanks man
Well now this is even easier lol ill get a few of these ones http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/LM2596-DC-Adjustable-Converter-Step-Down-Power-Supply-Module-LED-Voltmeter-USB-/141082091995?pt=AU_B_I_Electrical_Test_Equipment&hash=item20d925e1db&_uhb=1

I can use this on a few things

You could use a lm317 for adjustable output... Or you can find buck converters on egay for pretty cheep. I have 2 30-100v step down converters one is 10amp and the other is 20 amp both 12v and I got them around $10 ea after shipping.

Did you see this at HK for $7
