Hey all,

I recently got a Makerbase VESC 75100 (MKSESC 75100)* working with VESC Tool on 36v, but not 52v - no LED, nothing.
Testing volts on PPM connector out: 52v batt voltage shows > ~5v then < 0v , on 36v it's a stable 5.35v.

* This design seems practical: contained, easy to waterproof, and I had plans to add heatsinks all over - screwed with bolts through case into heatsink, and stick to top and other side, and also add conductive tape below PCB - all of which IMHO would make a huge difference thermally (which seemed the key downside to this design, QC issues aside).

EDIT:

BOARD COMPARISIONS: Flipsky 5100 75100v202 and MKSESC 75100 seem identical, apart from the rails - see MB over Flipsky (original boards attached).

STEPS
  • Followed guide How to update firmware on the Flipsky 75100 & 75200 FOC ESC and updated FW fine (75_100_V2 variants, inc 75_100_V2_no_hw_limits, 6.05 worked fine) reset, reinstalls worked fine.
    • 75_100 FW bricked it, recovered with ST LINK.
  • SETTINGS: 14s, tried max voltages of : 58.8 through 62, 75v (max), no go with 52v.
Of the images I’ve seen of the Flipsky vs Makerbase the MB seems better quality heatsink (no notch taken out - ~25% more alu), more rails, more solder.

UPDATE: oh, about that extra solder:

I cleared that solder, yet no change. I've only tried to test so far, no load run through, so still hoping there's some kind of setting I can change to make this work 🤷‍♂️ (tho could just be 💩).

that's my silicon on it btw

It should be fine at that voltage, I've got the MK 75100, 84100 and 84200. I've tested/ran them on 4s, 13s and 20s packs without issue.
is it still working with the 36v pack? If theirs not even the light coming on with the 52v pack I'd say you've got a faulty board.
