[pre][/pre]Hello I'm in need of some help before I start clicking the buy buttons.

I'm looking to buy a and MXUS 3000W Fat bike kit for a Mongoose Malus fat tire. My only concern is that I will have to do physical modification (grinding, bending, welding) to the bike to make the MXUS kit fit, this is impossible for me as I live in an apartment. I've searched here but couldn't find an answer. Does anyone know?

I put a standard mxus 3000 4t on mine, so you shouldn't have problem. At most you may need to squeeze the rear dropouts together a bit. and put jam nuts in the inside.

Thanks for the reply guys :)

What is a torque-plate and where do I get one?

Also, I've since decided on purchasing a Mongoose Malus for the black rims but I'm pretty sure it's the same bike. I can't tell any difference between the pictures I look at. I'm hoping I'll still be OK.

These are torque arms / plates

You can make your own with a grinder or buy some

I have a similar setup, Grizzl-E's build thread https://endless-sphere.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=72088

Thanks Grizzl-E! Any ideas where I can pick some up from. I'm not very capable with power tools, let alone have access to any.

I did use two of the ebikes.ca torque arms before I finished those ones.

They are pricey but this motor puts out a lot of torque so you need something decent. You ordering your kit from kinaye motor sports?

Btw you sure you want this big of a motor on a bike you have to get into an apartment? My bike is really heavy. I really don't like having to even lift it into my truck.

Thanks for the link man, luckily there's a place at the bottom of my building to tie the bike up. I'm probably just going to juice it up the stairs with the motor though

Here's the kit I'm eyeing, I can't decide between 5T and 6T though, which would be better for offroading?

It looks like they sell a torque-arm kit for the Dolomite too, I might just get that.

So you'll find this is a contentious topic around here. But I like the 6t on my bike. All motor windings produce the same max torque but lower kv ie the 6t here produces it at a lower amperage. But at higher speeds the motor is producing more back emf voltage so you get less power.

If you want to go faster get the 5t. But you will have slightly less torque off-roading with that controller. If you want to get a bigger controller at some point then definitely get the 5t. I use this on my snow bike so over 30 kph is terrifying so I like saving a little power but not having a higher top end with the 6t.
