Hello all, I started getting a little squawk coming from my mid-drive motor a month or so ago (on a Yuba Spicy Curry). Heres the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=myc3Fc5HrwEDoesn't sound like normal bottom bracket noise on a regular bike, it sounds like the crank spider freewheeling mechanism, maybe some nylon gears in there. I talked to Currie but they weren't very helpful, so far only pointing out that the motor is not designed to be disassembled. I'm trying to get my hands on the spider removal tool, like a regular crank extractor but with a deeper well so I can dig a little deeper into the problem.
Does anyone have any pictures of the inside of a mid drive motor so I can figure out what might be causing the noise? I haven't been able to find any threads on this motor specifically or any pictures of the crank freewheeling mechanism inside another mid drive motor.
Thougths?
