I know it is not a problem everywhere, but here it is hard to find brake fluid for Magura, Shimano, and other brakes that are using mineral oil based hydro fluid.

The crooks are selling us mineral oil at the price of good scotch whiskey, and have us wait a week to get it.

I have found a quart of Aeroshell 41 for 7.99$. Now using this with entire satisfaction. I wonder if some of you guys are using substitute brake fluids, and what have you been using.

Both Shimano and Magura use very light mineral oil, so both oil for hydraulics (heavy machinery) or automatic transmission fluid are kind-of close...but not exactly the same thing!
Aeroshell seems to be overkill for bike brakes, but if that's what's available cheaper then the alternatives, sure, I don't see why not :D

I live in EU, so a good portion of e-shops abroad have the same shipping costs as those in my country and the tax is paid just once, so I just order whatever the manufacturer says to put in...living in a small town, I'm used to waiting for shipping

Shimano oil is reasonably priced and easy to get anywhere, can't say the same for Magura (despite feeling exactly the same on my hands)
