Almost finished With my first ebike build :)
Used an old mongoose black Diamond single to convert. motor from hpc crystalyte the Crown 60. and kelly Controller keb72120e 12kw Controller. ca v3 to have the adjustment possibilities. cut the upper frame tube and made a Box With 3mm alu that is welded in Place. and a lid on top With just a strap on it. easy to get acces to battery. sprayed With black plastidip.
Stock rear shock, previus owner has changed the front shock. i installed the hookworm tires also. knobbie dh tires is no good on asphalt..
fender not the nicest one, but alot of rain and wet road the last weeks so had to install som good fenders to stop the water.
turnigy lipo bats. 12 briks of 5s5ah total 20s15ah is it running now. peak 168ah on the ca (12kw) :) . usualy i run on 6kw max on the ca. so its not Cooking the motor on a long hill.

started With a random 48v 1000w kit.. but that bike lasted 1 month before i got crasy and was wanting more power...

Your bike looks awesome. Congrads.

I am building a DH Comp right now and am considering scrapping the build in favor of one of the mongoose frames. I have seen a few Pinnr's for sale and I am tempted. I have never seen a black diamond though.

I was considering mounting the batteries where you have the controller and and putting the controller in an under-seat bag. It wouldn't be as powerful as yours but with the way Mongoose and GT have the floating BB/cranks, it moves the down tube up higher giving so much clearance, it is begging for something "ebike" to be mounted there.

Great build! enjoy it.

Edit: After looking at your pictures again, I just want to note that there is one thing missing - a chain tensioner. I can't tell from the pics but it seems like it is a single speed.

Yes corect its single speed. And it neads a tensioner for shure. I dont pedal so chain is just there for emergency ;) a tensioner will be mounted soon. And its alot of room for battery at the lower tube where my controller is. i know i have much of the weight high up on the frame. Not ideal, but for normal road commuting its not a problem.
So far i like the frame it rides nice, the hole bottom with pedal crank is bouncing with the rear suspension. complicated way of doing i think. it suck up alot of energy no way in hell to get it to wheelie when just pedaling when bike was stock. Just have to wait for winter to be finished so i can start to use it allot more. Icy roads the last weeks. No snow yet, but it will come ;)

Sprayed with clear plastidip on both ends so it has a seal. Front fender stops all water. And will only use it on nice weather days. So font think the mounting will be a problem. Maybe make a cover for it later.
