Hi
Just inherited an existing glider from my seniors at my school.
I am supposed to make the glider fly...more efficiently, and I am assigned the motor/controller system.
The motor is Plettenberg 220/40/A3 P6 5:1.
The prop that we are looking at is 23x10 foldable.
The operating voltage is 7S (28V)
Cruise rpm ~3200rpm (160W)
Peak rpm ~ 4800rpm (700W)
1) What would be a decent motor controller (can't find the existing ESC)? Heard my senior mumbled to explore Sinewave controller.
=> googled, but I can't seem to find one small enough for my weight budget 100g.
2) Understand that the existing plettenberg motor is already rather reputably efficient & given the the propeller is 23x10 is a constant.
=> wonder what other motor/esc combo can do the job more efficiently, especially around the cruise power 160W.
3) I took a look at RC Tiger U8/175kV, which my quadcopter friends swears by it.
=> Will be giving it a shot next week or so with the 23x10 foldable.
