Hi- I am designing an ebike with drop bars, regen, and CA. I am looking for way use existing road bike bifters (combo shifter& brake levers like shimano ulterga).
I have used the tripwire solution for my ebike with flat bars but have not found any info on using tripwire for drop bars.
Any ideas would be appreciated. Thanks

I could propose suggestions, but it’d help if you clarified a few things. PAS or throttle? What controller? Variable regen?

Cutoff and regen are kind of mutually exclusive, you’ll need to better describe the functionality you’re seeking.

Thanks for the response glennb.
I'll likely go with a grin all-axle front hub kit with BB Torque sensor for PAS, Baserunner L9 controller, CA V3 display & primary control system. This will support e-brakes and variable regen out of the box and is highly customizable. I have the rear hub version of this set up on my existing e-bike. I am used the grin tripwire to convert the existing brake levers to e-brake levers with cutoff.. and it all works great. The next build will be very similar to what I detailed above...but will be a road bike with drop handlebars. The only snag is how to convert my road bike "bifters" (combo shifter& brake levers like Shimano Ultegra, Sram, etc) as e-brakes.

>> So I am reaching out to see if anyone has seen a solution.

Thanks!

Regen on front wheels scares me, but each to their own.

Instead of a mechanical front brake, hook the brake cable to a throttle converter. Your brake lever’s now a throttle.

Then embed a tiny reed switch and magnet in your other brifter, such that pulling the brake lever activates the switch.

Feed this switch signal to the Cycle Analyst, which you program to swap to regen braking while receiving it, allowing you to command regen instead of throttle.
