Great to see that report.
A lot of builds here are on the top end but what you have there shows that building to a budget in no way means that it will detract from the quality of the build if done right.
You obviously have a great board at a great price with added street cared for building it yourself.
Thumbs up to that man.
I hope that inspires others to build their own.

Yes, it is a very simple project. All you have to do is throw the electronics in a box and your good to go. I think its really fun to see if you can do better than the available options. I gave it a shot and I hope others do too.

Im building a single with same motor, I'm curious to know what size gears you used and size of wheels ? Have you climbed any hills?

That's almost the third of the price of the Marbel board with the same characteristic. And yours look like a MadMax version of the marbel which looks DOPE. hahha

As for gearing and wheel size: I went with a 36t main, 16t motor pulley, 83mm wheels. Here is a calculator that you can use to find out what the top speed of your board will be.-http://toddy616.blogspot.co.uk/2013/07/electric-skateboard-calculator.html It was recommend to me that a speed top within the 18-25mph range is the best for climbing hills. Mine is geared for 23.5 mph, this helps to maintain momentum whilst going up hill. Sounds kinda counterintuitive, but I have found it to be truth. I have climbed all kinds of hills from different grades. I think unless you live in San francisco or are over say around 90kg(200 lb), that setup will serve you very well.
