New Aptera video and info

Good video.

These guys are smart... safety features (or lack thereof) are what killed the Citicar back in the 70's; Aptera seems to be taking that issue head-on.

They have a few suppliers for lithium phosphate batteries .

Notice they don't give a choice of chemistries? I'm sure they researched them all.

Hope this helps bring the price of the batteries down before i purchase mine.

Nicely done. If I had the cash, I might consider getting one.

I can't help but notice that the motor is a little small. Do you think I could make it fly if I put a WarP 13 in there 8)?

yeah the stock motor looks like motors in normal ecar conversions.

maybe due to the lightness of the car and the superior battery technology the car will be faster?

20kW or so (my WAG for that motor's rating) would probably get something that slippery up to a pretty good speed.

Now, if a WarP 13 will do 48HP (I think) without cooling...

I asked them if I could get a kit in Canada but they said it was not possible. What a shame!
I also propose to do winter driving tests and they turned me down :(

on that picture fr4om aptera battery test, i just wonder if the black cyclinder on the back of the panel are simple load resistors or... battery??? the red and black wires are very close to the resistor in it is that...<

analysing this image i can see that they use many relay or SCR or solid state relay that are connected to two bus (+) and (-).. maybe they charge many test cells in parallel...

the two blue top block seems to be super capacitor..

OK vid marred by the background vocals. They completely forget their lines and just "do do dee da" the whole song!
Terrible!

Hmm - many 3 wheel vehicles, they are classified as motorcycles, and you have to have a Motorcycle license to drive one.

Dunno if you can buy today yet, but somewhere, sometime, far, far away on another galaxy or wattever, here's a spy photo from the future, apparently:
